Runtown was born on the 19th of August 1989 in Enugu State (South Eastern region of Nigeria). His real name is Douglas Jack Agu, he attended his primary school in Lagos state Nigeria.

Unfortunately, his father died while he was at a very young age and due to his mother’s work, his mom works with the Ministry of Health and she was transferred to Abuja, Runtown then moved with his mom to Abuja.

In 2014 the album won him the “Best Collaboration of the Year” at the 2014 edition of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, the album was among the Top 5 Most Streamed and this got him a huge income.
