Kaduna Relaxes Curfew For Another Two Days to Enable Residents Buy Food Items

The Kaduna state government just announced that the lockdown had been relaxed for two days, the curfew it imposed across the state due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This takes effect from Tuesday, April 14, until Wednesday, April 16.

State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, in a statement made available to 9jatoday on Tuesday, noted that the two-day relaxation on the movement restriction is allowing residents to repopulate their homes with food items and other essentials before the blocking continues on Thursday.

He stressed that only vendors of food and medicines are allowed to open their stores between 8 am and 6 pm on Tuesday and Wednesday.

This, he said, is part of the deliberate policy of relaxing the restriction of movement two days a week to allow citizens to stock up on food and essentials.

The state government also advised residents to observe social distance, while buying and commercial buses are expected to meet the limit of two people per sit.

In response to the government directive, residents of the metropolis of Kaduna, in different interviews with 9jatoday, lamented that they are suffering due to the lack of money to buy food.

They urged the government to help them with more pending remedies when the curfew is completely relaxed.
