Nigerian Who Tested Positive for Coronavirus, Now Negative

Health Minister Osagie Ehanire said the second patient, who had tested positive for coronavirus in Nigeria, somehow shed the virus and is now tested and confirmed negative and should be discharged soon.

He said this during an interview with journalists on Friday in Abuja. He says that suspected cases in Edo, Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Kano and FCT have all been tested.

With this development, Nigeria now has only one confirmed case of coronavirus being treated at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Yaba, Lagos.

He said the case – an Italian – is making good progress and is expected to be released from the hospital next week.
