Anambra Community Protests Alleged Installation of 5G Network

Dozens of young people in Isuofia, in the local government area of Aguata, in Anambra State, protested yesterday against the alleged laying of cables suspected of belonging to the controversial 5G technology network in the community.

The protest allegedly credited a statement credited to the leader of the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, alleging the laying of 5G Technology Network cables in the state, while residents were forced to observe the sit at home against the pandemic coronavirus.

An area resident who preferred anonymity said the youth had confronted the company, warning them that exercise would put their lives at risk.

He said employees of the company, whose identity could not be verified because there was no registration on their equipment, denied the allegation, claiming they were installing a 4G Technology Network cable.

We however, learned that young people insisted that they should stop working and leave the community for peace to reign.

Reacting, the traditional community minister, Chief Ndubisi Osele, attributed the protest to disinformation.

He said: “Some criminals misinformed young people in the community that 5G Technology Network was being installed in the community.

“What is being placed underground is fiber cables, not the 5G network; The 5G Technology Network is a band placed on the mast, not placed on the ground. “
