Edo Impeaches Speaker Frank Okiye, Elects New One

The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Frank Okiye has been impeached. Okiye was impeached following a motion by the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Henry Okhurobo.

The impeachment letter of Okiye was signed by nine of the 10-members who were present at the brief sitting on Monday.

A new speaker has now been elected. His name is Hon. Marcus Onobhu. Onobun upon his election thanked the members of the house for his election as the new speaker of the House.
