Fire has gutted the Ondo State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) on Thursday, destroying Smart Card Readers.
9ja news reports that barely one month to the Governorship election in the Ondo state, fire has gutted the Ondo State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) on Thursday, destroying Smart Card Readers.
9ja news understands that the fire which destroyed items in the building started at about 7:30pm on thursday evening and the cause of the fire is unknown.
The inferno was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Rotimi Oyekanmi in a short statement titled ‘Fire at INEC office in Akure’.
Oyekanmi says that INEC would begin investigating the cause of the incident.
