Gunmen On Amidst Valentine Kidnapped A Catholic Priest in Edo

While people are celebrating love all over with their loved ones, report reaching 9jatoday reveals that some yet to be identified gunmen invaded a community in Edo State and swindled a Catholic priest and some little children.

According to the report which was monitored by 9jatoday on The Nation, a Catholic Priest of Uromi Diocese in Benin City, Father Nicholas Oboh, has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

Confirming the report, the Chancellor of Uromi Diocese, Rev Father Osi Odenore, in a post on his Facebook page, noted that Fr. Oboh was kidnapped while Valentine celebration was ongoing, though he did not reveal where exactly the clergyman was kidnapped.

He said, “We are sure he is alive, and since the incident, steps have to be taken to ensure that Rev Father Nicholas Oboh is a release without no harm.”

9jatoday understands also as reported that some little kids were been kidnapped at Umelu community in Ikpoba-Okha local government area.

It was confirmed in a report made available to newsmen that some group of robbers had stormed the area went away with four children.

However, according to an anonymous source who disclosed the incident to newsmen, the abducted children have been set free after the parents had paid the sum of N2m for their ransom.

Meanwhile, while trying to gather facts from Edo State Police spokesman, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, he noted that no report has yet be brought to his desk as regards the attack.
