The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) donated 200 50 kg bags of rice to more than 3,000 internally displaced people (IDPs) in the Ohogua camp, in the local government area of northeastern Ovia, in the Edo state.

Those present were yesterday presented to the insurgency victims in the Northeast by APC’s Edo secretary, Lawrence Okah, who was accompanied by other members of the party’s State Work Committee (SWC).

Okah said: “APC’s national president, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, ordered us to present and present the 200 50 kg bags of rice to you (the IDPs). It is not the desire of the displaced to be here (in the camp), but to be here for providence.

As he spoke, APC Advertising Secretary Edo Chris Azebamwen said the governing party has always identified with the needs of the people, especially in times of challenge.

The coordinator of the IDP camp, in his comments, saluted APC leaders, especially Oshiomhole, former governor of Edo State, for always reminding them.

He guaranteed that the items presented would be carefully used for the maintenance of internally displaced persons, as done with previous materials.
