Atiku Reacts To FG Dropping Petrol Price To N130

Former vice president of Nigeria and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in 2019 general election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has praised the Federal Government of Nigeria for the drop in petrol price.

9jatoday understands that President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration on Wednesday, March 18 announced the reduction of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) pump price, also known as petrol, from the N145 to the N130.

Reacting to the development, Atiku Abubakar took to his verified Twitter handle to commend the Federal Government for taking such decision, adding that all hands must be on deck to deliver Nigeria from its economic challenge.

He wrote: “The #CoronavirusOutbreak places a huge economic strain on Nigerians, which is why we counselled the FG to reduce the pump price of PMS. I commend the FG for taking this step and I urge that all hands be on deck to rescue Nigeria from the economic downturn of the oil crash. -AA”

Meanwhile, 9jatoday had reported in another news that the Federal Government has released a sum of N20 billion to speed up the completion of the East-West Road Project.

A development which was disclosed by Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA) in a meeting held in his office with the managing director of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), the Federal Ministry of Finance and the contractors responsible for Section I-IV of the East-West Road Project, which remains from 2006 to date.
