Bola Tinubu, the Jagaban of Borgu kingdom was born in Lagos on the 29th of March 1952. He had his basic education at St. John’s Primary School, Aroloya, Lagos and post-basic education at Children’s Home School in Ibadan, Nigeria.
Tinubu received a threat to his life which led to the death of his friend. Hence, his mother decided that it’s better he continued his tertiary education abroad. To raise enough money for this trip, Tinubu disposed of the Volkswagen given to him by his uncle, and his mother, all her trinkets.
Being a brilliant student, he emerged as the overall best student of his class at Chicago State University in 1979, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science, Accounting. His brilliance, therefore, earned him a full-time job as a lecturer in the Accounting department.
Also, being the best graduating student of his class, he had numerous job opportunities with tempting salaries before his table. Companies like IBM, Arthur Andersen, Ernst and Whinney, Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, Peat Marwick and Mitchell, etc. were all after him.
Tinubu, however, opted for the Deloitte and Douche because they have clients who are into the oil and gas industry, after all, Nigeria is an oil-producing nation.
When he came back to Nigeria, Tinubu worked with Mobil where he was employed as the company auditor… However, the Jagaban of Borgu passion for community development and being true federalism, decided to into politics.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu was once a member of the National Assembly representing the Lagos West Senatorial district in 1993. Being an advocate of Democracy, he equally served as the 12th Governor of the almighty Lagos State between 1999 – 2007.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu is, however, happily married to Oluremi Tinubu, who is currently representing the Lagos Central Constituency at the National Assembly. Accordingly, they are equally blessed with children.

Bola Asiwaju Tinubu came into political limelight in 1992, under the umbrella of the Social Democratic Party of Nigeria (SDP). As a true Nationalism, Tinubu belonged to a particular caucus of the party named the Peoples Front.

Bola Tinubu founded the Nation Newspaper in Lagos State on July, 26. It was the first media house he will ever capitalize on. Equally, the Nation Newspaper publishes on a daily basis and it is the first Nigeria newspaper to have a wider circulation across the country.
However, he invested in Broadcast station too and his love for journalism birthed the TVC News station that has gained ground in most African countries.
