Reports reaching 9jatoday as confirmed by the Kano State Fire Service Command has affirmed the death of four members of a family who lost their lives in a building which collapsed at Saberi, Gwale Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.
Given updates on the incident, spokesman of the fire service, Saidu Mohammed reveals that the command was able to rescue three other persons alive from the building.
According to Mohammed, the horrible incident had occurred on Monday, April 13, when the occupants of the house were sleeping.
He said, “Seven persons were trapped in the collapsed building, four of them died later at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano while the remaining three victims were receiving treatment at the hospital. Among those rescued was a one-year-old boy.”
“We received a distress call from one, Sadi Gora, who lives in the neighbourhood, at about 11:45 p.m. that a building collapsed in the area.
He added, “On receiving the information, we quickly deployed our rescue team to the scene at about 11:55 p.m.’.
However, the cause of the collapse is still under investigation as no trace has yet been discovered, 9jatoday understands.
