According to a report confirmed by the Ondo State Commissioner for Information, Donald Ojogo, a National Youth Service Corps in the state has been found positive of the novel virus, Coronavirus.
The Corps member whose details remain anonymous happens to be the newly recorded case of the deadly coronavirus disease as earlier announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in the state, 9jatoday understands.
It could be recalled that the NCDC on Monday night announced that Nigeria has recorded 20 new cases of the Coronavirus.
The announcement reads:
Twenty new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows:
13 in Lagos
2 in Edo
2 in Kano
2 in Ogun
1 in Ondo
As at 09:50 pm 13th April there are 343 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 91 have been discharged with 10 deaths

Giving updates on the recorded case, Ojogo disclosed that the corps member was a medical doctor, having his primary assignment, at the 32 Artillery Brigade, Owena Cantonment.
His statement reads: ”The third positive case in Ondo State is a medical doctor; he is a Youth Corp member attached to the Army Clinic at the Barracks and had attended to the first index case while he was under observation.”
“Mr. Governor will today at noon, address the people of the state on further details in respect of this case and provide deeper insights.”
