COVID-19: Benue Records First Case of Coronavirus

The Benue State COVID-19 Action Committee announced the first case of coronavirus in the state capital.

This was disclosed to the committee after a meeting with the governor of the state, Samuel Ortom.

According to the committee, the state government announced the necessary measures to reduce the spread of coronavirus in the state: “A positive case was detected in one of the eight suspected cases of people who returned from abroad specifically in the United Kingdom.

The governor named the victim as Susan Okpe and advised anyone who has contacted her in the past 14 days to avail herself of testing and isolation.

He said that some proactive measures were also taken to prevent the virus from spreading and advised people in the state to take note of all precautionary measures.
