Former President Olusegun Obasanjo announced on Friday that his former residence at Presidential Hilltop, Abeokuta, Ogun State, has been released for use as an isolation center for victims of the dreaded coronavirus disease.
Obasanjo said the 32-room facility was handed over to the Ogun state government for immediate takeover.
His special media assistant, Kehinde Akinyemi, who confirmed the development, said the former president was concerned about the pandemic.
He quoted Obasanjo as saying, “I think those who can, in one way or another, help in this situation should do so.”
The facilities located outside Presidential Boulevard, Oke Sari, Abeokuta, each have 32 rooms with a backup generator.
