A community in Kaduna State was reportedly attacked by unknown gunmen on Saturday, kidnapping a whole family excluding the husband.

The report which was made available on Saturday reveals that the gunmen attacked a community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State called Juji.

9jatoday understands according to the report that the gunmen in their numbers approached the house of a popular medical doctor, abducted his wife, children, as well as his security guards on Saturday morning.

According to a source, it disclosed that the gunmen had attacked the community about 10 pm on Friday night where they engaged in the exchange of gunshots with a team of Nigerian Policemen for over six hours.

Also in the attack, a vigilante group member feared death by the bandits.

It has been noted that the Juji Community had suffered a series of attacks resulting in the abduction of several persons in couple of months.

An anonymous source also confirmed the attack to newsmen that the bandits in their large numbers invaded the community about 11 pm on Friday to carry out the attack.

“But the bandits had a fierce battle with the police in the area which lasted for over six hours,” he said.

“the bandits later had their ways and gained access to the residence of the medical doctor about 4 am on Saturday and took away his wife, children and security guard to an unknown destination.”

In respect to this, residents of the community took to the street to protest the latest terrible incident, appealing the on the government to rescue them from the bandits who invaded the community at will to carry out attacks.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Yakubu Sabo, who responded to a news correspondent on the phone, said that he would reach out to the DPO in the area for more briefings on the incident.

“Let me find out. I will get some facts and get back to you. Presently, we are on our way to Sanga Local Government Area for the today(Saturday) rerun election but let me get the DPO and get some facts.” He said.
