According to the report, which was confirmed by the Public Relations Officer of the Plateau State Police Command, ASP Abuh Gabriel, the gunmen shot dead one, leaving many injured while they set houses on fire.

The incident was coming following reports that the gunmen had on Sunday killed about 13 persons in a village in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.

ASP Gabriel, however, said that security men had been deployed to the two communities to calm situations.

He further stated that the security men are making efforts to unmask the perpetrators of the attack, which has been re-occurring in recent times.

In another news, 9jatoday had reported that the security outlet, ‘Operation Amotekun’ movement set up by the South West Governors has been berated by the mouthpiece of the Muslims Right Council, MURIC, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, noting that the word ‘Amotekun’ has its root from the Holy Bible.

The MURIC stated in its statement made public yesterday that there will be no peace in the South-West if the word Amotekun is not changed, alleging that the word was taken from the Bible.

Prof. Ishaq makes his stand that Amotekun will never be used in the South-West to establish a security outlet, and for the fact that the region is dominated by Muslims.
