The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Council (JAMB) released another batch of results of 450,000 candidates who participated in the Unified Tertiary Enrollment Examination (UTME) on Tuesday.
JAMB’s head of media and information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement.
He asked candidates who attended the exam on Tuesday this week to verify their results by sending “RESULT” to 55019 and not on the council’s website.
Benjamin said the board did not cancel the results of its examination last Saturday as being speculated on social media.
He explained that the results of the first day of the exam were posted on the website and that some fraudulent individuals were dealing and manipulating it to deceive innocent candidates.
The JAMB spokesman noted that this prompted the council to move the result to the mobile platform for candidates to use “their unique phone numbers used to register for the exam to access their results”.
He therefore asked candidates to dismiss rumors that the results were canceled.
The statement said: “The results of the more than 450,000 candidates who showed up on Tuesday will also be released before 12:00 pm on Wednesday.
“To check their results, candidates must send” RESULT “to 55019 and not to the council’s website.
“We urge the public to always check the information provided on social media.
“The results will continue to be released as the exam is carried out. In a few days, we will complete the 2020 exercise and urge all candidates to be vigilant, as many fraudsters who have failed to operate successfully, given the security measures implemented to protect our system, will take advantage of all opportunities for information gaps, defraud or deceive innocent candidates “.
