Katsina Confirms Three New COVID-19 Cases

The Katsina state government has just confirmed three new cases of coronavirus in the local government area of Daura.

Governor Aminu Masari made this announcement today, Friday while speaking to journalists in the council chamber of the Government House in Katsina, the state capital

According to him, the three new cases emerged from the 23 blood samples of people who reported having interacted with the first patient with COVID-19.

The governor explained that the samples were collected three days ago at the Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC).

The three confirmed positive cases are the wife and two children of the first case.

After the development, Governor Masari ordered a total lockdown by the local government of Daura to prevent the spread of the virus.

He also pronounced that, as of now, only three food items and three pharmaceutical stores could operate.
