Based on the Kannywood actress Maryam Booth’s leaked video that made rounds online, she has threatened to sue the perpetrator.
An undressed video of the Hausa actress, 26 years of age, became a trending topic on Twitter over the weekend as a user posted the video.
In the three-seconds video, the fair actress was seen naked while dressing. But when she realized that she was being filmed by her partner in the room, she quickly ran to get the phone from the faceless man.
There are various answers to the short clip. Some of her fans and colleagues praised her, urging her to take the legal battle against the hacker.
Her colleagues, Ali Nuhu, Rahama Sadau, Sani Danja, Falalu Dorayi, Usman Uzee and Nafeesat Abdullahi, have asked her to remain strong as the investigation continues.
A photo of Booth was on Instagram from Nuhu’s crank with the caption: “Oh God, nothing is easy, except what you facilitated. I pray that you facilitate it for her in this difficult period. Stay strong daughter and may Allah protect us from the plot of enemies. ”
The award-winning actress accused her ex-boyfriend, Ibrahim Ahmad Rufai, known as Deezell, of blackmailing her by publicizing the nude video on social media.
“For the record, I want to state categorically that this same man (Ibrahim Ahmad Rufai) was on several occasions threatened leaking my video if I didn’t give him money,” said the actress who started acting at a young age.
“I am aware of current trends and media outrage over the unfortunate leaked video, released through various social media platforms and seen by thousands of people so far.
“Initially, I wanted to remain silent until the security agencies completed their research and forensic investigations. The recent statement by someone, in the person of Ibrahim Ahmad Rufai, popularly known as Deezell, leaves me no choice but to break the silence.
“As a woman, actress and model for millions, I will not let this issue get swept under the rug. I have been trying to protect my dignity by possible means, but without my knowledge, the three-year-old video was leaked. “
Responding, Deezell said it was false.
Deezell demanded an apology. He said the allegations were false, as his religion is against exposing other people’s mistakes to the public.
He said, “My attention was drawn to a particular nude video by a popular Hausa actress, Maryam Booth, circulating on social media platforms, along with a false claim that I leaked the video.”
“Unfortunately, these misguided elements and agents of destruction have sadly failed to provide any evidence and details that would link me to the said leaked video. As good faith requires an answer, I wish to make it clear that, in all material time, I did not leak the alleged video circulating on social media and, as far as I know, I do not know who leaked the video. “
“As a Muslim, I know that it is against the Holy Quran and the teachings of our noble Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to spread or expose other people’s illegal actions, especially on social media with the sole purpose of causing harm. “
This is not the first case of nudity in Kannywood. In August 2007, a video of popular Hausa actress Maryam Hiyana, in close relationship with her boyfriend, appeared online.
The Kano State Censorship Council (KSCB) promised to clean up Hausa’s film industry. After Hiyana’s scenario, his administration announced stricter guidelines, such as banning married women from acting, as well as requiring women in the sector to have a male guardian who would be legally responsible if their ward broke the rules.
Its executive secretary, Isma’el Na ‘Abba, said the council’s main task is to preserve Hausa culture.
However, the president of the Kannywood Artists Council, Alhassan Kwalle, said that despite Booth’s nude video, the body would not prohibit her from acting.
Kwalle added that, unlike the sextape of another Hausa actress who went viral many years ago, which involves s3x, the Maryam case is different.
“For this video, she (Maryam) tries to apprehend the phone of the person who is recording it. She just came out of the bathroom and tried to put on an outfit when the person recorded it.
