The members of the Nigeria-Ghana Business Council made this known through their President, Omoba Bambo Ademiluyi. Ademiluyi says that Gbajabiamila’s visit to Ghana has made positive impact and paved the way for an amicable resolution to the trade dispute.

According to Ademiluyi in a statement of appreciation and commendation addressed to the Speaker, he said “It is on record that your trip brought about the highest involvement of both governments in this dispute that has been on since 2007”.

Ademiluyi says the proposals and presentations have brought about two important solutions. First, “The review of the GIPC Act demanding $1,000,000 deposit for foreign investors in Ghana as it concerns Nigerians”. Second, “The promotion of the Nigeria-Ghana Business Council backed by legislation to superintend on trade and business issues between the two countries.”

He added that the formation of the business council which was proposed by the Speaker was a welcome development.

The members of NUTAG also commended the Speaker for his visit with the Ghanaian authorities which they decribed as “timely and a step in the right direction”. And that Gbajiabiamila’s intervention shows that President Muhammadu Buhari and his government have the interest of Nigerians at home and abroad at heart.
