BREAKING: Ramadan Begins on Friday — Sultan

The Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence, Alhaji Saad Abubakar III, announced on Thursday night the beginning of the Ramadan fast on Friday, April 24, 2020.

He confirmed that the new moon had been sighted.

Considered a holy month, Ramadan is the period when Muslims observe fasting and prayers.

The sultan also instructed Muslims to avoid congregational meetings and maintain physical distance throughout Ramadan as part of measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.
