Nigeria’s Security and Civil Defense Corps, Adamawa State Command, has called on Nigerians to stop moving with cash or travelling with large sums of money, instead of adopting the cashless policy of Nigeria’s central bank.
State commander Abdullahi Nurudeen made the appeal while parading four armed robbery suspects who terrorized travellers along the Ngurore Numan and Savannah roads in Adamawa state.
Abdullahi Nurudeen warned the general public to be extra careful when travelling with large amounts of money to avoid victims of armed robbers who ambushed to steal their belongings from passengers.
While Parading the suspects at the NSCDC headquarters in Yola, the state commander revealed that the suspects were found with expensive clothing materials, cell phones, machetes and other dangerous weapons, as well as large sums of counterfeit money from different currencies, including Cameroon CFR and other fetish items.
The four suspects also confessed their involvement in many highway assault attacks.
While addressing the suspects, the NSCDC commander said the command would leave no stone unturned to rid the state of criminals.
The Command also praised other state security agencies for collaborating with the Command for the successes achieved so far.
