CAN Advises FG Over Threat by Boko Haram Leader:
The Federal Government of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, has been charged to be sensitive about the recent threat made by the leader of the deadly group, Boko Haram.
According to a statement made by a former Director, Legal and Public Affairs to the Christian Association of Nigeria, Samuel Kwamkur, President Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration is not been serious with the recent threat issued by the Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, towards the President himself.
9jatoday understands that Shekau has issued a threat to President Buhari and to the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ibrahim Pantami.
Kwamkur, in an interaction on Friday with a news corresponding of The PUNCH, noted that he fears for the President and his administration overs silence on the threat by the deadly group.
This media platform also understands that Kwamkur made the statement just a few moments before the expiration of his tenure.
He said, “It is truly sad but not surprising that the Boko Haram Commander, Abubakar Shakau, will release a video threatening to attack the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, and the Honorable Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ibrahim Pantami.
“I am not sure if the Federal Government finds the threat as serious since it’s their belief that Boko Haram has been technically defeated or degraded.”
