Former presidential aide under Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s administration, Reno Omokri, has caused a barrage of reactions on social media after he declares paying of TITHE not compulsory.

Payment of tithe which is known to be one-tenth of one’s income has been a thing of concern among some Christians. Many have opined that it is a practised of the old testament and that throughout Jesus Christ ministry, he did not enforce or teach about tithing.

Reno Omokri in a tweet noted that tithes are was only meant to be paid to temple priests who are forbidden to work in the old testament.

He added that the practice predates Judaism and Christianity.

“Tithe if you are led, but know one thing: if you don’t TITHE things won’t be TIGHT for you,” said Reno.

He added with reference to @JeffBezos, saying “he doesn’t tithe, are things tight for him?” Reno asked.

Many Nigerians have, however, reacted to this, as some said that tithing works for them, so they will tithe. And many also opined that the practised should be abolished.

See Reno’s tweet that got everyone talking below;
