Police Intercept Corpse of Suspected COVID-19 Patient in Osun

Osun state police intercepted a car that was transporting the corpse of a suspected COVID-19 patient to Ibadan state, Oyo state.

The car was intercepted at around 6:30 pm on Sunday, at the Odo Oba border, along the Ibadan / Iwo road, by agents executing the lockdown order in Osun.

According to a source, medical staff at the border suspected that the body had died of COVID-19 in Oyo state.

Our Correspondent concluded that a gray Mazda 323 car, with registration number KFS 409 EH, used to transport the body, was driven by an Ismaila Ademola.

It was also known that the corpse was identified as Yusuf Ishola and the car used to transport it belongs to one Mrs. Texaco.

A source also revealed that security agents and some government officials escorted the vehicle back to Division police officer Adebayo Micheal in Iyana Offa, Oyo State, to deliver the car with the corpse.

Osun’s state police public relations officer, Ms. Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident and said that the police commissioner, Mr. Johnson Kokumo, directed the monitoring closer to the border cities.
