COVID-19: Aisha Buhari Shuts Down Office, Daughter In Self-Quarantine

The president’s wife, Aisha Buhari, closed her office after the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

She also said that his daughter, who recently returned from the UK, among the most important countries, is in isolation.

In a statement released on Thursday, the President’s wife said: “Earlier today my daughter returned from the UK being among the high burden listed countries of COVID-19.

“Based on the advice of the Hon. Minister of Health, Presidential Task Force at COVID-19 and NCDC, she is in Self-Isolation, not because she had any symptoms of COVID-19.

“Please, I urge all parents to do the same, if possible, because prevention is better than cure.

“Likewise, I closed my office for two weeks with immediate effect, while essential employees can work from home as a result of some employees who have recently returned from the UK.

“I recommend to the North-West Governors, including Niger and Kwara, the preventive measures taken to curb the spread of COVID-19 at its security meeting yesterday in Kaduna.”

She urged Nigerians to “continue to follow the advice of the Federal Ministry of Health and the NCDC”, expressing hopes that “We will overcome the COVID-19 pandemic if we all take the necessary precautions at the same time!”
