Breaking: Ganduje Imposes Curfew As COVID-19 Case Hits Four In Kano

Kano State governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje has declared total lockdown in the state following reports a few hours ago by his media aide, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, that Kano state has recorded a fresh case of Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Governor Ganduje announced on Tuesday at a meeting with some Islamic Scholars at the statehouse that lockdown will commence in Kano State from Thursday, April 16 as a precautionary measure to tackle the spread of the novel virus.

His statement reads: “Following the outbreak of this disease, COVID-19 in Kano State and the subsequent cases we recorded, Kano State Government has resolved to lock down the state for a duration of seven days, starting from Thursday, April 16.”

“We want to, however, call on the scholars that Kano residents should start purchasing foodstuffs, as that would help curtail the spread of the disease in the state.”

“The lockdown would start at 10 p.m, no more markets, no more gatherings and mosques,” said Ganduje.
