Kano Assembly Approves N50bn Loan For Gov. Ganduje

Kano State House of Assembly has on Wednesday consent to a request by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to obtain a loan which will enable him to complete some projects in the state.

According to the report, Governor Ganduje has forward a letter to the assembly and was read before the house by the speaker, Alhaji Abdulazeez Gafasa, requesting their permission to take a loan from the capital market.

After deliberations which reportedly lasted for a few hours in a sitting, the assembly approved of the N50 billion loan request by the governor Ganduje.

9jatoday understands that the loan as noted by governor Ganduje will be repaid to the donors within 10 years.

It was said that the loan will be used for completion of projects and as well kick start fresh ones in the state.

However, Gafasa after while ending the sitting on admonished all house members to go back to their respective constituencies and embark on prayers against deadly Coronavirus attack.

The speaker also prayed for God’s protection on all Nigerians against the COVID-19 pandemic, wishing that already infected individuals get a speedy recovery.

Thereby adjourned their next sitting to April 13, 2020.

In another report earlier, Rivers State Governor Nyesom Ezenwo in a move to curb the coronavirus disease in his state, gave directives that air, sea and land routes to the state be closed to traffic, starting at 6 pm, Thursday, 26 March 2020.

Wike said this in a broadcast on Wednesday that the move has become necessary in light of recent developments.
