Fathia Balogun was born in Ikeja, Lagos, on February 5, 1969. She is a descendant of Okpara in the local government area of the Eastern Etiope of the state of Delta.
Fathia Balogun is a Nigerian actress, filmmaker, director and producer and her full name is Fathia Akorede Adunni Balogun.
During her early years, Fathia studied at Maryland Primary School and Maryland Comprehensive High School in Maryland, Lagos, where she obtained her (WAEC) the West African School Certification Exam before going to Kwara State Polytechnic to obtain a diploma certificate.
Having presented, produced and directed several Nigerian films over the years, Fathia won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Indigenous Actress in 2008 and her film “Iranse Aje” won the best indigenous film of the year.
In April 2014, alongside actor Odunlade Adekola, who emerged as the best actor of the year then, Fathia also won the Africa Movie Academy Award, having emerged as the best actress of the year.
Fathia Balogun also won the award for Best Indigenous Language: Yoruba for her work on the film “Iya Alalake” at the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards 2015.
Fathia Balogun has been in the entertainment industry for several years and is undoubtedly a Nollywood veteran. She was married to Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun of which they divorced due to consistent disagreement.
