Former Finance Minister, Nenadi Usman, Loses Husband

Kaduna State in the early hour of Wednesday, April 1, lost a renown Emir in the Kagarko Local Government Area.

The traditional ruler, Emir of Jere, Dr Sa’ad Usman has died at his residence in Kaduna on Wednesday (today) after he had suffered a protracted illness, 9jatoday learnt.

The monarch who is also the husband to former Minister of Finance under Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, Senator Nenadi Usman, died at the age of 70, 9jatoday report.

The news of his death broke the internet following an announcement from his younger brother, Aminu Jere.

He wrote: “I just lost a brother in person of HRH the Sarkin Jere, Dr Saad Usman, PhD,”

“Our Emir passed on at about 2:40 a.m today after a protracted illness. You know he had been having a long-standing spinal cord problem.”

“He had received treatment at different hospitals, including National Hospital, Abuja and one in London.”

“We pray to God to bless his soul and grant him paradise,” he added

Aminu further disclosed that the burial ceremony of His Royal Highness will hold by 2 pm on Wednesday, in accordance with Islamic rites.
