JUST IN: APC’ll Bounce Back Stronger - Oshiomhole

The national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the true spirit of reconciliation, comrade Adams Oshiomhole, said on Tuesday, despite the various disputes that have dominated the party in recent times, the party will recover stronger and better.

While addressing members of the National Working Committee (NWC), which had members present from pro and anti-Oshiomhole groups, the president said the party’s NWC is united.

According to him, “despite what we have been through, this NWC is not divided”.

The chairman, who admitted that the party may have experienced some challenges and disagreements, argued that the action and inaction of NWC members was not to destroy the party, but for its progress.

He then asked NWC members to leave everything that happened in order for the party to move on.

Oshiomhole, who became philosophical, noted that God must have allowed the party to go through recent difficulties, in order to teach everyone a lesson and for everyone to read just their willingness regarding responsibilities.

“God is never wrong, He allowed what happened to happen so that we could all learn, everyone could reexamine their conscience, strengthen their bonds of friendship, bonds of solidarity and work in family”.

Extending the olive branch to his opponent, Oshiomhole admitted that he may not have been the best chairman, but stressed that no one can blame his sincerity on purpose, emphasizing that, in the interests of peace, he was prepared to reconcile his leadership style.

“I am the first to admit that I am not the best chairman in the world and I never will be. But no one can blame the sincerity of my purpose. My style can only be my style. But I recognize that I must reconcile my style with others so that we can meet halfway. ”

The chairman then praised President Muhammadu Buhari, for giving ears to those who approached him in order to ensure that APC remains on track.

He also thanked the APC Governors for their role in resolving the party’s crisis.

He said participation in the NWC meeting would shut up detractors who thought NWC members would come to fight. “I don’t wear boxing gloves. I wanted to use full white to send a message of peace. And I think everyone came here with a good heart and may God see us through this moment. We will recover stronger and better. ”

The chairman arrived at the party secretariat at around 12:50 pm, received by some loyal members of the party, the chairmen of the APC states who sympathized with the chairman. No less than 17 chairmen of state were on land to receive him.

Upon arrival, the chairman went straight to his office, where he held a brief meeting with some loyal NWC members before moving into his office’s conference room for the meeting.

The acting national secretary, Chief Victor Giadom, who arrived at the secretariat at 11:27 am, had already packed his car in the parking lot designated for the national secretary before taking the seat of the national secretary during the meeting as Arc. Waziri Bulama, who was appointed to the position, was not present.

Northern national deputy chairman Alhaji Lawan Shuaibu was also absent from the meeting.
