Giadom Suspends APC National Executive Committee Meeting After Buhari’s Intervention:
The National Executive Committee, NEC meeting of the All Progressive Congress (APC) scheduled to hold on Tuesday, March 17 has been suspended following an intervention by the President.
Speaking to newsmen on Monday, the Acting National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Victor Giadom discloses that the emergency meeting earlier scheduled for the NEC has been paused indefinitely as President Muhammadu Buhari has shown interest in the crisis happening within the party, and his opinion must be respected.
Reacting to President Buhari’s intervention, Giadom was quoted to say, “the decision of the President, who is the leader of the party and in that regards the NEC meeting slated for 17th March has been postponed indefinitely,”
“The party will respect the intervention of Mr President,”
Speaking about the new date scheduled for the NEC meeting, he added, “the public and members of NEC will be informed of the new date, but as for today and agreement with the President, the NEC meeting is postponed.”
In another report earlier, Minister of Finance, Mrs Zainab Ahmed announced that the $22.7 billion external loan the Federal Government of Nigeria is hoping to borrow has been halted due to current economic challenges been faced in the country.
