Suspected cultists have reportedly killed an unidentified young man and leaving another with a gunshot wound on Saturday in the Owhase community in the Udu council area in the state of Delta.

9jatoday concluded that the incident happened around 9:55 am, leaving residents fearful and in a state of panic, as they were unable to identify the pair.

It was concluded that the victims were tied up with ropes by their attackers, who fled in an unknown vehicle after shooting at the victims.

Sources say the vehicle, which was heading towards Enerhen Junction, had three male occupants, but could not say what type of vehicle it was.

One of the victims was said to have died at the scene, while the other was in his early 20s, currently fighting for his life in an undisclosed hospital.

Some people living near the scene of the incident reportedly vacated their homes for fear of being arrested and interrogated by security officers during development.

The body is said to have been evacuated by the relevant authority.

Efforts to obtain comments from the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Hafiz Inuwa, were unsuccessful at the time of submission of the report.

However, the vice president of the Udu council, Hon. Judge Iyasere confirmed the incident.

He said: “What I just gathered is that it is a cult related incident. That those two guys were shot. One died instantly and the other is in a critical condition.
