Prior to the October 10 government election in Ondo State, the All Progressives Youth and Women Forum for Good Governance (APC) unanimously expressed its support for the APC runner-up in 2016, Olusegun Abraham as candidate of the party in the voting power.
Speaking during his monthly meeting in Akure, capital of Ondo State, yesterday, the APC Youth president, Olotu Oluwatoba, reiterated the need for a compassionate technocrat who contributed immensely to the state’s economic and infrastructure growth to occupy the House of the Alagbaka Government in 2020.
According to him, Abraham’s endorsement is coming in view of the need to expand and improve the people-oriented programs he has been doing in his life to make the State of Ondo and Nigeria a better place to live.
Oluwatobi said Abraham is also awarding millions of naira scholarships to underprivileged students in the six local governments in the Northern Senate District of Ondo and beyond for nearly 20 years and establishing business for the needy in all 18 areas of local government in the State.
In addition, the group’s secretary of state, Mrs Olayinka Alasan, said that “Abraham is a blessing to the state, because he is the best among the aspirants who have so far shown interest in the 2020 governor election in our state and we must support you.
“We must not forget that he provided medical and financial assistance to many across the state.
“As a progressive and loyal person, he campaigned for the late Adebayo Adefarati in 18 areas of local government and rejected the position of commissioner offered by the late governor because he wanted grassroots politicians to grow.
“He later left his multi-billion dollar Naira business in Nigeria and abroad to help establish the Adefarati government, especially in industrialization and infrastructure development across the state.”
Mrs Olayinka reminded Ondo State citizens how Abraham turned Owena Motel’s fortunes from loss to profit when he voluntarily served as President of the motel for four years between (1999-2003), without charging a salary or allowance during the period.
She assured the people of the state that Abraham would not disappoint them if he had a mandate to serve the people.
