Nigerian Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has cried out over threat to strike attack on the National Assembly by some yet to be identified groups of people.
According to Lawan who spoke through his aide, Ola Awoniyi, noted that he has received a report of a security threat by some individuals who are planning to attach the house.
9jatoday understands that the senate president opened up on the threat at an emergency meeting which was held in a closed-door with the senate leadership. Noting that the Senate has received reports of security threat to the assembly complex.
The report reads; “Unknown and uninvited people came or are coming into the National Assembly complex and we felt we shouldn’t take this lightly.
“From today, we have to find a temporary solution to support the security arrangement here.
”We will find a more permanent solution by the time the entire environment is remodelled.”
However, security agencies have been urged to beef up security at the National Assembly to avert any attack.
