One person was killed and five injured after gunmen attacked the Ragwam-Magwanshia community in the local government area of Katagum, Bauchi state.
A member representing the Katagum federal constituency in Bauchi State, Umar Abdulkadir Sarki disclosed this in a statement released on Tuesday.
He commiserated the victims affected by the attack, which occurred on Sunday.
The legislator described the attack as “barbaric and a devastating tragedy, not only for the families and friends of the victims, but also for Katagum as a constituency and the Bauchi state as a whole.
“While the families of the victims are mourning, I would like to use this means to extend my sincere condolences and sympathies to them at this very difficult time and to pray that Allah will comfort and give them the courage to endure this irreparable loss,” the statement reads. ”
Sarki also sympathized with the district chief of Ragwam, Emir of Katagum and the Bauchi state government, urging them not to give in to prayers for the souls of departed and their families.
He added that his FARAR TAFIYA FOUNDATION foundation will pay the medical bills for the five victims admitted to the Federal Medical Center, Azare.
State police spokesman ASP Umar Magaji, when contacted, said he would return to our reporter later.
