An Indian contractor with symptoms of coronavirus was identified at the Dangote refinery in Lagos.
9jatoday reports that the Indian who works as an employee of one of Dangote’s contractors was coughing and experiencing a high fever on Monday.
The doctors were called immediately and the Indian was rushed to a hospital for testing and diagnosis.
A spokesman for Dangote, Tony Chiejina, confirmed the incident, but maintained that the Indian was not a Dangote employee.
He said the person was seen during one of the routine medical tests at the refinery, adding that the case was not confirmed.
Chiejina said that the Dangote group remained a strong partner in the fight against Covid-19, adding that the company had donated N200m to fight the epidemic.
He said a statement would be released soon and urged all Nigerians to remain calm.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Center for Disease Control said on Twitter that it was already investigating the matter.
