This news got to us at 9jatoday about a certain peacemaker who lost his life while trying to settle a dispute which almost translated into physical combat, this transpired between his friend and the bar owner, it’s unfortunate that Ifeanyi Uchendu lost his life at the bar in Lagos.
The family of the 36-year-old footballer was suddenly thrown into mourning after a bar owner named Obiora Denis, allegedly stabbed him to death in the Alausa area of Ikeja in Lagos State.
9jatoday gathered that Ifeanyi and his friend, named Chinedu, were having a drink session at the Dorbazini Bar when the latter begins smoking a substance which is suspected to be Indian hemp.
Chinedu was immediately spotted by the salesgirl at the bar, and she reportedly cautioned him.
Our correspondent learned that after he was cautioned, he refused to heed to the salesgirl warning, which made her call the attention of the bar owner, Obiora, and informed him about the situation.
Both men started exchanging words as Chinedu claimed that he wasn’t smoking on the bar premises.

The argument was said to have transmogrified into physical combat between them. Ifeanyi, in an attempt to resolve the disagreement, intervened, as Chinedu was taken to a nearby shop in the area.
Ganiu Olayemi, who was a witness, said when Obiora could no longer find Chinedu, he then confronted Ifeanyi for letting his friend escape. Then the bar owner was alleged to have stabbed the victim on his chest.
Olayemi said all efforts to save the 36-year-old proved futile, as he died before he could get to the hospital.
“After Chinedu was dragged away, Obiora begin looking for him. Ifeanyi quickly stepped in and pleaded with him to stop the fight.
“But Obiora said, ‘it was you that allowed him to run away.’
Ifeanyi was stabbed three times on his chest in the process, and he fell.
“A tricycle was brought in and they tried to rush him to the hospital. But when they realize that he was already dead, they dumped the corpse in front of the bar and turned against the bar owner,” he added.
Obiora, on seeing the result of his deed, tried to take to his heel, but he was nabbed by the mob.
