Representing thousands of other Youth Service Corps, four corps members of the National Youth Service Corps Scheme(NYSC) paid a visit to Aso Rock to express their gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari in regards to the recent increase in their monthly allowances from N19, 800 to N33, 000.
Led by the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare as well as the Director-General of the scheme, Brigadier General Ibrahim Shuaibu, the NYSC Corps members converged at the State House.
According to a spokesman for the corps “The implementation in January when we least expected it brought tears of joy to us as we have doubts of the promises earlier made.
The corps members- Tim Abasiandikan Udo, Yinka Olayinka Kolawole, Agatha Nwakego Aniobi, and Aminu Umar Bello assured the government of their commitment to do their best during their service year.
They further said “the increase is a wakeup call to us to show more commitment to the affairs of our fatherland. We are great stakeholders in our collective determination of building a prosperous and united Nigeria, the future belongs to us”.
