Yobe State Police Arrests Four Suspected Robbers, Kidnappers

Yobe State Police has disclosed that its Command on two different operations carried our recently, made an arrest of some alleged robbers and kidnappers who reportedly get away with some valuable items they stole from their victims.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Friday by the Yobe State Police Public Relation Officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, four suspected armed robbers and kidnappers who raided a house and swindle away some gadgets which include two Laptops,  mobile phones allegedly five and some other valuable items, has been arrested.

9jatoday learned that the personnel of Potiskum Area Command had made the successful arrest of the suspects following an Intelligence operation.

It was reported that 3 of the arrested are kidnappers the other is a robber.

Dungus gave the name of the suspects as Manu Bello, Ya’u Bello and Ahmadu Abdullahi all of Fika local government area.

He added that they had demanded the sum of two million nairas for the released of one Hodi Buba who they kidnapped from Fika Local Government Area.

Speaking further about their second operation led by the DPO ‘A’ Division in Damaturu, another armed robbery suspect identified as Kamisu Umar of Shago Tara in Damaturu was arrested after successful robbery incident at Alimarami Ward, Damaturu in the house of one Alhaji Yusuf.

He states that “During the incident in the house, the suspect carted away unspecified amount of money, two (2) Laptop computers, five (5) cell phones and other valuable items.

“Efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the gang for interrogation and subsequent prosecution,”

He, however, charged residents to always give their maximum support to Police and further reassured the people in the state its commitment of purpose in the fight against crime.
