Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, has in a statement confirmed to newsmen on March 8, that a teenage girl has murdered a forty-nine-year-old man at No. 10, Olalemide Street, Aboru.
9jatoday understands that the young girl accused, who also has now been arrested is of 16-years-old.
It was reported that the Lagos State Police Command has made an arrest of the young girl for allegedly stabbing to death one Babatunde Ishola, 49, who is said to be a security guard.
According to a report by NAB, the young girl narrated that the victim had attempted to rape her before she took the action of stabbing him.
Speaking about the arrest, Elkana revealed that the girl confessed to the command that the deceased, who was her father’s friend, called for her assistance in getting him some water since they also reside in the same compound.
He said, “She has always been helping him with house chores and while she was helping out with the water on Saturday, he attempted raping her.
“She picked a knife from the room and stabbed him. The suspect was taken to hospital for medical and forensic examinations,” he said.
The PPRO further reveals that that homicide detectives of Oke Odo police station have carried out a check on the crime scene at Ogundele Street, Aboru, where the deceased was found lying in a pool of his own blood.
He added, “The corpse was evacuated to a hospital for a post mortem examination. The suspect was arrested and the knife she used in stabbing the deceased person was recovered.”
However, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, had ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, for investigation, Elkana reveals.
