All Suspected Cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria Tested Negative – NCDC

Reaching 9jatoday, The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed results of the 11 suspected cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) tested in Nigeria as negative.

Recall, 9jatoday reported of The news of The first case of the deadly virus, COVID-19 popularly known as CORONAVIRUS has been reported in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.

The Ministry of Health in Lagos State just confirmed this to be true and has been reported to the Federal Ministry of Health.

Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu, the Director-General of NCDC has to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) confirmed that all feared cases of Coronavirus turned out Negative.

He said “ Four laboratories in Nigeria have the capacity to test for the coronavirus. These laboratories are within the NCDC laboratory network and are in contact 24/7. If a new case is confirmed, it will be reported accordingly.

We are in close communication with the Lagos State Ministry of Health and other states, and will inform the public once there’s a confirmed case in Nigeria,”.

The Director went further to assure Nigerians that the NCDC would continue to closely monitor the outbreak globally.

“We urge Nigerians to disregard rumors and discourage further spread. NCDC will inform the public if a case is reported in Nigeria,”
