Two Alleged Cultist Arrested In Ogun For Killing OPC Member

Ogun State Police command has confirmed through its spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the arrest of two young men suspected to be cultists.

The police spokesman noted in a statement on Wednesday that one Korede Pariosho and his ally, Jide Afolabi were nabbed for the murder of a member of the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) whose name is given as Kolawole Ajomale.

9jatoday learned that the suspects killed Mr. Ajomale before his wife who is presently pregnant.

PS Abimbola reports that the two were arrested on Wednesday, April 8 by detectives from the Ijebu-Igbo division following reports that gathered that the duo shot at the deceased on his head and stomach on Sunday, April 5, at his residence in No. 20, Odo Balogun Street Oke Sapen.

It was reported that the Divisional Police Officer, DPO, led a team of detectives to the hideout of the two suspects and arrested them.

Confessing to the crime, the two suspects gave that they killed the deceased as revenge to the death of one of their members allegedly killed by the OPC in 2017, Ajomale report.

He said: “On interrogation, the two suspects confessed killing the deceased but they claimed to have done it in revenge of the death of one member of their cult group whom they alleged was killed by OPC men in 2017. They further confessed to have vowed since then that any member of OPC seen will be killed in vengeance of the death of their late colleague.

He added: “The Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discreet investigation and prosecution.”
