About ICAN

ICAN is the professional and regulating body for accountants in Nigeria. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria which is popularly referred to as ICAN was established in 1965 under the Act of Parliament No. 15, 1965.

Since then the regulating body has overseen the affairs, and standards of practice of accounting in Nigeria. With its motto “Accuracy and Integrity”, it monitors and ensures standards in Accounting practice. This is including the Accounting qualifying examinations and other related matters.
