COVID-19 Lockdown: Kwara Government Bans Streets Walk

Kwara State government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has today Tuesday, banned street walk in the state as a means to maintain the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The development was confirmed on April 14 (today) in a statement by the Kwara State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, Samuel Okasanmi, who gave the warning in a live broadcast.

According to Okasanmi, a fresh order from the state government has stopped residents from walking around during the lockdown, noting that the command will not take it likely with anyone who violated the order.

The PPRO also noted that the government had put in place a mobile court to try anyone or group of people walking around.

speaking about those travelling through the state’s border, Okasanmi added, “the Commissioner of Police, Kayode Egbetokun was personally supervising all border posts in the state to ensure compliance.”

“All borders leading to the state are under tight security to disallow people coming in and out of the state. People should ignore rumours,” Okasanmi added.

Meanwhile, Kwara State has recorded four confirmed cases of coronavirus, 9jatoday understands.
