After his close contact with the governor of Bauchi state, Bala Muhammed and the president’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari, who tested positive for the coronavirus, Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki isolated himself.
In a statement, the governor’s special adviser for media and communication strategy, Crusoe Osagie, said the governor had sent his samples for testing.
Osagie said: “The governor isolated himself after the governor of Bauchi state, Senator Bala Mohammed and the president’s chief of staff, Abba Kyari, tested positive for the coronavirus.
“The governor met with Senator Mohammed at the meetings of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) and the National Economic Council (NEC). He also visited Mr. Kyari.
He said that although Obaseki had no symptoms of the virus, he took the necessary precautions to isolate himself to protect people who might come into contact with him.
