Background and Education
Nigerian Singer and Songwriter, David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known as Davido was born on the 12th of November, 1992. Davido came into the limelight when he released his song “Dami Duro” in 2012. The singer was born in Atlanta, Georgia USA to business magnate, Adedeji Adeleke while his late mother, Vero Adeleke was a lecturer. Davido attended the British International School in Lagos before proceeding to the Oakwood University, Alabama where he studied Business administration.
While in Oakwood, Davido started making beats with his cousins B-Red and Shina Rambo. Davido left Oakwood to pursue music full-time. In 2011, he put his music career on hold and returned to Nigeria, and registered at Babcock University where he completed his studies.

Since Davido started his music career fully in Nigeria, he has consistently churned out hits back to back. He started working on his first album “Omo baba Olowo” between 2011-2012.
This particular album featured artists like Naeto C, B red, Shina Rambo, Kay switch, Ice prince, and even the legendary 2baba. In 2013, the album won Best R and B pop album. It was also nominated for “Album of the year” at Headies award and “Best album of the year” at the 2013 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
The “Omo baba Olowo” album had songs like Back when featuring Naeto C, Ekuro, Overseas, All of you, and Dami Duro which received massive airplay.

In 2015, he released another album titled “The baddest“. Fast forward to 2016, Davido released his Debut Ep titled “Son of Mercy” comprising of 5 tracks. The tracks were produced by Kiddominant, Spelz, and Shizzi. The EP had singles like How long, Gbagbe Oshi, Coolest Kid in Africa.
In 2019, he released “a good time” featuring songs like Intro, 1 Milli, If, Disturbance, Check am, Assurance, Get to you, sweet in the middle, and many other songs. One of the songs on this album “Assurance” was dedicated to his girlfriend, Chioma and his release coincided with her 23rd birthday. Another Song, “Risky” featured Chris Brown.
The next year, 2020, he released yet another album with the title “A better time”. The album had songs like Fem, Jowo, Something Fishy, the best, Tanana, So crazy, and other songs.
