Not quite long after Kano State government under the Dr Abdullahi Ganduje‘s led administration declared total lockdown in the state due to the spread of the novel virus, Coronavirus, reports reaching 9jatoday at this time confirms that the state has recorded five new cases of the global pandemic.

The development was confirmed in a tweet by Salihu Tanko Yakasai, the Media Aide to the Kano State governor, via his microblogging site account on Wednesday.

This online news platform understands that Kano State as at 11:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15 has now recorded nine confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Reporting the new cases, Yakasai tweeted: ”The Kano State Ministry of Health, KNSMOH, has announced 5 new additional COVID-19 cases in the State. Making it a total of 9 confirmed positive cases.

” The 5 new cases were all traced to the index case on Wednesday, 15th April 2020. As at 10:25 am, 5 additional cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the State.”

Meanwhile, 9jatoday recalls that Kano State House of Assembly about three weeks ago consented to a request by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje to obtain a loan which will enable him to complete some projects in the state.
