News reaching 9ja today says the Lagos State Government (LASG) has reopened two of its recreational parks for public use. The reopening of the recreational parks is coming after after several months of closure due to the coronavirus Pandemic.
The announcement was made by the General Manager of Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), Mrs. Adetoun Popoola. Popoola says that necessary arrangements are in place to ensure adherence to the safety protocols prescribed by the State and Federal governments.
The recreational parks now made available for public use are the Ndubuisi Kanu Park in Alausa and the Dr. Abayomi Finnih Park, Oregun, both in Ikeja. The number of occupants at the parks is restricted to 150 and 100 respectively.
According to the LASPARK GM, children below five and adults above 65 years are advised to stay away from the park. She also added that play items and games that would involve physical contact will be put away till further notice.
She noted that other recreational parks are being assessed for reopening and that members of the public will be notified about new developments.
