Reports reaching 9jatoday that Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Emir dethroned from Kano, has just been exiled by the Kano state government.
The embattled monarch was sent into exile in Nassarawa.
The photos obtained show the former Emir being sent to an asylum amid tight security.
The former Kano Emirate ruler was dethroned on Monday after allegations of refusing to comply with instructions given by the state government.
According to state government secretary Usman Alhaji, the removal was in line with the recommendation of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission, which convened the Emir.
In documents obtained and signed by the commission’s chairman, Sanusi was accused of obstructing the Commission’s investigation.
The Commission asked the traditional ruler to respond to a petition accusing him of selling N2 billion worth of land belonging to the Kano Emirate.
Sanusi, however, secured a court restraining order to prevent the commission from investigating him.
After the dethronement, the emir of Bichi Aminu Ado Bayero was announced as the new emir of Kano.
